By accessing or using the GolfCourseAPI website and API (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and API key and for all activity that occurs under them. Your API key is issued to the account holder and may be shared only with members of your internal team who need it to develop or maintain your application, as described in Section 3. It may not be transferred to, or exposed to, anyone outside that team.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access golf course data through the Service. This section governs what you may and may not do with that data.
Permitted use. You may cache and store golf course data that the Service returns in response to requests made in the ordinary course of operating your application — that is, requests made to serve your application's users — and use that data internally within your own application(s).
No bulk extraction or scraping. You may not use the Service — including the course search and proximity (radius) endpoints — to systematically or programmatically crawl, scrape, harvest, or otherwise extract all or a substantial portion of the golf course data in our system. This includes any automated or looping mechanism designed to compile every course in our system. This kind of activity places unnecessary strain on our servers, whose resources are reserved for serving legitimate client requests. Caching and storage that results from your users' ordinary use of your application is permitted; requests made for the purpose of building a full or substantial copy of our data are not.
Enforcement. We monitor use of the Service for patterns consistent with bulk extraction. If we determine, in our reasonable discretion, that you have breached this restriction, we may throttle, suspend, or permanently block your API key and account, with or without notice, and may require you to delete any data obtained through that activity.
Prohibited use. You may not share, redistribute, resell, sublicense, publish, or otherwise make the data available to any other application, product, or third party — whether by offering the data for sale, exposing it through your own API, or allowing another application to consume or access it. The data is licensed for use inside your own application only.
Key-holder restriction. Any cached or stored data that originates from the Service may be used only by the account holder to whom the API key was issued and the members of their internal team. You may share your API key with developers on your team solely to develop or maintain your application, but you may not expose it beyond that team. This license is non-transferable; you may not allow any developer, application, or organization outside your internal team to use your API key or data derived from it.
Key security. The account holder is responsible for keeping the API key secure — for example, by not embedding it in client-side code, public repositories, or other locations where it can be accessed by people outside your team — and remains responsible for all use of the key, including use by team members with whom it has been shared.
You agree not to use the Service to violate any law, infringe the rights of others, circumvent rate limits or access controls, extract data in bulk (see Section 3), or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms.
Some features require a paid subscription. Fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law. Cancellations take effect as described at the time of cancellation.
The Service and all data are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Golf course data may contain errors and is subject to change.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GolfCourseAPI will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of profits or data, arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
